GCC Chief Condemns Iran's 'Unprecedented' Attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait

(MENAFN) Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi issued a sweeping condemnation Wednesday of ongoing Iranian strikes against Bahrain and Kuwait, warning that the assaults represent a dangerous new threshold in regional hostility.

In a formal statement, Albudaiwi denounced the attacks targeting "civilian objects, infrastructure, headquarters and diplomatic missions" across the two Gulf states, pulling no punches in his characterization of Tehran's conduct.

The strikes, he declared, constitute a "dangerous and unprecedented escalation" — one that lays bare the "Iranian regime's insistence on pursuing rejected hostile policies targeting the security, stability and sovereignty of the GCC states."

Albudaiwi went further, framing the relentless nature of the attacks as evidence of Iran's deliberate defiance of the international rules-based order, stating that the continued assaults demonstrate Tehran's persistence in undermining regional security "in blatant defiance of international law, the UN Charter and all international norms."

The GCC chief issued an urgent call for a coordinated global response, stressing that the escalating situation demands "a firm international stance" to bring what he described as "dangerous Iranian aggressive practices" to a halt.

Albudaiwi made clear that the GCC views the safety of both targeted nations as inseparable from the bloc's collective security, underscoring that the security of Bahrain and Kuwait is "an integral part of the security of the GCC states."

He affirmed that all GCC member states stand in full solidarity, backing every measure undertaken by Bahrain and Kuwait to defend their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity against the ongoing Iranian offensive.
