Bahrain Says It Intercepted Iranian Missiles, Drones Amid Regional Escalation

(MENAFN) According to reports, Bahrain’s Defense Force stated that it intercepted and destroyed three missiles and several drones it attributed to Iran, saying they were aimed at civilian sites inside the kingdom.

In its statement, the Bahraini military accused Iran of continuing what it described as a “hostile approach” involving repeated missile and drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure. Authorities urged residents to exercise caution and avoid approaching any suspicious objects or debris, and to report them immediately to security services.

No immediate details were provided regarding casualties or the extent of damage caused by the attempted strikes, according to reports.

The developments come amid wider regional tensions following claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that it launched attacks on US-linked bases in Kuwait in response to earlier strikes on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) later stated that two Iranian missiles targeting Kuwait either fell short or broke apart mid-flight, while three missiles aimed at Bahrain were intercepted by Bahraini and US air defense systems before reaching their targets, according to reports.
